MG Cyberster

On November 17, 2023, the MG Cyberster all-electric convertible sports car was officially launched at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China.

It is a scissor door + soft top convertible + two-door, two-seat pure electric sports car, very good to fill the blank car of Chinese cars. 4535/1913/1329mm, wheelbase 2690mm, compared with the BMW Z4 is larger than a circle. the MG Cyberster is destined to be the toy of the minority group.
In terms of power, there will be single-motor high and low power versions and dual-motor versions, with the single-motor version carrying a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, with a maximum power of 231 kW for the low-power version and 250 kW for the high-power version; and the dual-motor version, with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle with a maximum power of 150 kW, and a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, also with a maximum power of 250 kW. Battery capacity of 64kWh and 77kWh, corresponding to the range of 501km, 520km and 580km.

In terms of appearance, the overall ornamental is very good, with smooth lines, more refined than Nezha and Hao Platinum, which are similarly priced electric cars, with British style and retro style. The front line is pressed low, flanked by individualized headlight clusters. A closer look reveals the ring-shaped daytime running lights inside the light clusters, which mimic the round headlights of the MGB. The front surround takes on a V shape, a design based on aerodynamics to better channelize airflow. The rear is also very sexy, with a slightly upturned ducktail that is very elegant, and further back there is a vertically undercut rear end, which is also designed to minimize air turbulence. The design of the rear surround echoes the front surround, and the diffuser fin shape further enhances the sense of sportiness. As for the big arrow taillights, which have been complained about online, I also think the design is good, not offensive and very recognizable. The car accelerates hard and the analog sound is loud and mellow. The car's chassis is stiff, but not as stiff as a Tesla's, and it drives valiantly on big roads, with some bumps on small roads.

There are a couple of shortcomings:
1 The cover part is not molded in one piece, and there are split lines on both sides of the headlights, which pulls down the aesthetics.
2 The scissor door is purposely designed with a 2-centimeter black square, placing the switching door buttons on the square, which appears to be very abrupt. The purpose of the design may be because the tail is too high, the design can not be pressed down, only through the visual effect of the switch of the black square to make the center section more streamlined. Some of the snake added.
3 seat part of the flip leather is quite fashionable, but the center control and switch part of the use of old piano baking paint process, a little low, not as good as carbon fiber or flip leather more texture.
4 The center control part is a three-piece screen in zigzag shape, visually not smooth enough, not as beautiful as using a piece or three curved screen.
