MG Cyberster Car Reviews
Three months of driving the MG Cyberster.
I think this car really fits the fun image of a convertible: soft top, two seats, cool scissor doors, highly recognizable taillights, and really high turnover on the road! I prefer the 20" wheels on the middle and high end models, they look very simple, the 19" design seems a bit too busy?
It's an easy car to drive fast: rear-wheel drive, 314hp, Brembo brakes, and you feel extraordinarily settled in it, and it's obvious that MG's engineers have put a lot of work into the chassis. But it's not as hardcore as the 86/BRZ/718/Supra, I think everything about it is GT-oriented, good for cruising good for the street, running mountains and tracks seems a bit hard for it, after all, 2 tons of bodywork is here.
Does the steering wheel block the view? No, it only blocks some less important driving information, such as battery voltage. The navigation on the right hand side can be set to display in the center of the dash, so I don't think there's a problem with blocking the view. The power consumption was a pleasant surprise, I was surprised to see that I only used 3% of the battery power walking from Liwan to Panyu! This car is really two cars with the top off and the top on, with the top off it makes you want to drive fast, with the top on it makes you want to drive happy!
The price tag of Rs. 32-36 lakhs is quite reasonable for a fast car. If I had to choose though, I'd probably still go with the soft top ND, toy car or hand wave!
